Who We Are

Founded in 1993 Argyle Northwest Construction was a small family ran business with a history of excellence and a diverse range of skills within the construction industry.

Argyle has since grown to much greater heights and has now established as one of the market leaders in its field. By keeping the original ethos, we pride ourselves on being responsible to ensure the highest standards and offering complete customer satisfaction.

Our History

1993

Founded as a Family Business

Argyle Northwest Construction Ltd was established in June 1993 as a family-run operation, offering a diverse range of construction services. From these modest beginnings, the company laid the foundations for responsible, high-quality workmanship.

2014

Rapid Growth in Surfacing Division

What began as a steady, small operation quickly gained significant momentum. Within a remarkably short period Argyle experienced a large increase in its core client base. This exponential growth was driven by building on both new opportunities and long-standing partnerships, firmly establishing Argyle as a trusted name in the industry.

2016

Launch of Civils Division

As our reputation grew, so did client requests for additional services. In response, Argyle established its Civils division, marking a significant step in our evolution. This move expanded our capabilities beyond surfacing into Section 278 works, drainage, and other enabling works, allowing us to offer a more comprehensive service package and single-source solution for more complex infrastructure projects.

2021

Strategic Investment & Rebrand

Following significant private equity investment, Argyle entered a transformative phase. A major brand refinement programme modernised our identity and aligned it with the business’s expanded ambitions. The introduction of new director roles strengthened the senior leadership team, enhancing strategic oversight and preparing the business for future growth across new sectors and service lines.

2023

Celebrating 30 Years of Excellence and Expansion

In 2023, Argyle marked 30 years in business – three decades of delivering dependable, high-quality construction solutions. To support continued growth and regional expansion, we acquired Lornford Construction, a well-established surfacing specialist. This strategic move enhanced our in-house capabilities and strengthened our footprint across the whole of the Northwest.

2025

New Headquarters & Workforce Growth

In response to continued growth, Argyle relocated its head office to larger premises in Atherton, Greater Manchester as well as acquiring offices on Birchwood Park in Warrington. With increased capacity, the business also expanded its team and capabilities, scaling up delivery across the region.

Reza Qureshi

Reza Qureshi became Managing Director of Argyle in 2025, following a highly valued tenure leading operations since 2017. With a hands-on leadership style and a focus on strategic project delivery, Reza has played a pivotal role in expanding the business while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance. His deep sector knowledge continues to shape Argyle’s future.

Ben Shaw

Ben Shaw joined Argyle in 2015, bringing over two decades of industry experience and a strong commercial acumen. He oversees project bids and cost management, sales, marketing and business development - all to try and secure strategic growth for the business. His collaborative leadership supports our reputation for value, precision, and client satisfaction.

Chantelle Wood

Chantelle Wood oversees both operations and Argyle’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy. Her leadership ensures financial stability across projects while driving sustainable, responsible business practices throughout the organisation. Chantelle plays a key role in aligning operational performance with Argyle’s long-term environmental and community goals.

Dave Smith co-founded Argyle in 1993 and continues to play a hands-on role in the day-to-day delivery of projects. With decades of practical experience, he oversees construction activity across the business, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard. Dave’s deep understanding of the industry remains central to Argyle’s reputation for quality and reliability.

Hayley Dunn

Joining Argyle in 2023, Hayley Dunn brings a wealth of experience in financial strategy and operational efficiency. Since her appointment, Hayley has been instrumental in optimising Argyle’s financial performance by refining budget controls, simplifying reporting systems, and enabling data driven decision-making. Her proactive approach and keen eye for process improvement have strengthened the company’s financial governance, supporting sustainable growth and long-term resilience.
